UW Science Instructors Receive Grants to Support International Teaching Projects

CALS International Programs has awarded UW-Madison faculty and instructional staff in the sciences a total of nearly $80,000 to support the design and implementation of innovative teaching projects that further introduce undergraduates to the international aspects of their fields.

This year’s recipients of Science Curriculum Internationalization Grants–which provide up to $10,000 to faculty and instructional staff members in the sciences–hail from a variety of departments, including Animal Sciences, Horticulture, Agronomy, Geography, and Bacteriology. Proposed projects include online case studies and learning modules, visits from international scholars, classroom-integrated use of social media, and field study abroad.

Since 2011, CALS International Programs has awarded nearly $300,000 in Science Curriculum Internationalization Awards. Together, these projects have impacted more than 60 undergraduate courses, reaching approximately 2000 undergraduates per year.
